Klein Pienk Dogtertjie is a satirical folk-tale incorporating different traditional characteristics, while creating a conspiratorial theory as to where certain traditional characters disappear to after they are discarded by popular culture.
This tale ironically follows a story line typical of traditional South African narratives, while not embodying a traditional narrative. It incorporates all the popular characters from native Afrikaans children stories of the 1980s. While these characters are life-long companions and heroes to some, they are often discarded by popular culture soon after their initial appearance.
What happens to these once-heroes? Where do they go after their days of fame and glory? These are the questions Klein Pienk Dogtertjie is pursuing answers for.
